I assume that someone, somewhere has taken out insurance against a failure in the chain to ensure we get paid whatever and can cover our own loans...

They borrow against installments owed on transfers. Transfers are normally spread over the course of the players contract.

So Ayew for example, he went for £18m and signed a 3.5 year contract. The payments would work similar to a £6m down payment followed by 3 payments of £4m when central funds are paid by the Premier League.

Swansea would have offered him a 3.5 year deal as they think relegation is a strong possibility and future payments and wages could be covered from parachute payments.

We would then go and take a loan against the guaranteed payments from Swansea.

Loans against our future ticket revenue would be heavily capped anyway. The biggest risk to lenders wouldn't be protests, it would be relegation. They would be lucky to be able to borrow 10% of this seasons ticket income. That's less than a Diafra Sakho.

Even if people didn't renew next season other people would take the seats. If they didn't manage to sell the season ticket at all a good majority would still sell on general sale for a lot of matches.

Not renewing tickets isn't a massive threat to the board. Especially now that we only receive a small share of the catering profit. If they thought our ticket income would be lower than expected they would purely just reduce our outlays to reflect that. I.e. We would have an even smaller transfer budget or they would increase their income by selling more players.

With the transfer window now closing before the start of the season it's even easier for the board. They have 3 weeks after our window closes that they can still sell players abroad.

If the rumours that the club are relying on "PayDay" type loans to fund day-to-day operations, then the march might just make the lenders think "Hold up - that's potentially a lot of people not coming back next season, we're not sure West Ham cam service another loan through footfall...".

Now, THAT, might get the board to have a re-think.

On the cash-flow front, along with the march, it might pay everybody to commit to not renewing (and I fully understand that many will still) until the last day possible, despite what will be ever increasing threats (emails, then text/social media, then call-centre agents) about the possibility that "You might not get your preferred choice of seating*".



* Notwithstanding the fact that the "preferred choice of seating" for very many was back at the Boleyn, in any case.

Decided to get a season ticket last season to see how the 'new vision' would play out.......needless to say, didn't renew as the experience was pretty shit all round.
I'll be there on the 10th. Whether it makes any difference or not but as people have said........do nothing and nothing happens.

My concern would be that the Daves may try to subvert the march.......paying some goons to try and cause trouble etc and thus ensuring bad press and subsequent negative publicity. WIth BG and AS onboard, you can write your own headlines if that's the case!

I presume they'll have 'spotters' on the firm on the day? Make sure everyone's on the same page and pre-empt any foolishness?

The problem you may have then if everyones behaved is the same one the FLA had on their marches........no trouble = no publicity.

I'll be in Spain so I'll miss the March. I've put in to the fund though.

As others have said, the only thing they will take any notice of is empty seats. I doubt they will even notice the march. Don't get the tube there like the rest of us do they?

If even for the media attention it's worth it.

Even for the fact when the G&S and Brady are out at a social event and people make comments like "I see your fans aren't happy with you" to embarrass them it's worth it.

Sullivan has VERY thin skin and surrounds himself with yes men. He probably thinks the Hunt's will stop him getting bashed personally but it's not going to be that kind of fight.

So what's the alternative? Do nothing. A demo can never achieve 'nothing'. It may not change the owners ways or bother them in the slightest but it opens other peoples eyes who are not West Ham.

That in itself is priceless.

That is worth actually paying the entrance fee for, a season ticket sell out to just give them constant grief like they given us a constant shafting.

Yep, agree with that. I've said on here before that I've never subscribed to the 'I can't stop going' theory. Of course you can stop going, you just don't go.

Let's see how this march goes, but in reality I think the only way these cunts will get the message is people start to vote with their feet.

I think protesting and marching as a group will be the best and closest thing to what going to West Ham used to be like.

For the first time in years we won't be just sitting on the side lines watching us capitulate we'll be there right in amongst it showing our passion for the club we love.

It doesn't even have to be aggressive as it's organised by people who know that isn't always the best route just one of the many tools in their box.

Looking forward to it and thanks to Mr Gardner and Co it has some REAL leadership and purpose.

Let's face it, they ARE West Ham and i align myself to their mindset over the club's since they've been there through all footballing situations unlike the club which drops you like a stone if you don't fill their coffers.

West Ham United you are invited.........

I'm surprised by the apathetic nature of our fans, who despite knowing how poorly the club value it's fans loyalty, continue to go to games, and after last season renewed in their droves despite numerous debacles over the course of the season.

People will say it's what being a fan is all about, but I stopped when I felt like I valued my time more than being made to feel like a complete mug for going to games due to the way the board just take it for granted and continue to show a complete lack of regard for ensuring that the club is being run in the right way.

WHile the ground is still pretty full they won't give a shit about a little march in March.

What to do think this is going to achieve?

They are thick skinned and couldn't give a crap if a few thousand people march before the game.
There will always be people to fill the stadium. If you don't go there's someone else who will.

We do need change but in this day and age it's much harder to make it happen.

Unless a rich Arab comes along with lots of money to take us to the next level. I can't see them selling.
Do we want that? someone with no affiliation to West Ham. Who would use it as a toy.
